Meaning behind the Name: “Tobiume” (飛梅) means “Flying Plum Tree.” The name refers to a famous legend associated with a plum tree at a Shinto shrine: when a court poet was exiled, it’s said a plum tree “flew” from the capital to be near him, symbolizing devotion and longing. The incense’s name evokes that poetic, spiritual story, making Tobiume suitable for contemplative, nostalgic or reverent settings.
